We are saddened to hear the news regarding the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh.
We will be asking all of our teams to hold a minutes silence during this weekends games to recognise and reflect on the impact that Prince Philip has had and will continue to have on our lives for years to come.
A man who championed young people through the creation of the Duke of Edinburgh award in 1956 which many of our members have taken and do take part in through school. His award and legacy will outlive many of us and very rarely do we find someone who has impacted on so many of our lives.
Prince Philip had a keen interest in sport and encouraging young people to grow through self discovery and service to your community, responsibility, commitment and self reliance. We as a club hope all players who pass through us can adopt these skills and traits.
I think it’s fair to say that Prince Philip will be certainly missed by many. All of our thoughts are with the family at this time, including the Queen, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
