The League Management Committee met yesterday evening to discuss the current situation and to review the advice being issued by Government, The FA and County FA as well as information being issued by other stakeholders such as the providers of pitch facilities our Clubs utilise.
Following the Government’s announcement today, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, we are now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future. – The FA
As a result of this announcement Wiltshire FA has suspended our grassroots football interventions and we are informing our leagues and clubs to cancel matches, training, kick-about’s and informal gatherings until the 1st April at the earliest. – Wiltshire County FA
The decision was taken to postpone all matches up until the 18th April, the 19th April being the date we would normally resume football after the School Easter holidays.
This decision will be continually reviewed as more advice is issued in the coming days and weeks.
Closer to the time when we have a degree of confidence that we can restart football, we will decide on how we are going to complete the Mini Soccer knock out Cups, the League Cup and conclude the 2019-20 season.
We are in unprecedented times, but this is only kids football, please continue to following the NHS & GOV.UK advice as this could really make the difference between life and death.
