With the 2025/26 Season upon us, we’re sharing some reviews of the season just completed, U10 Purple.

Overview of the Season:

The 2024/25 season has seen the U10 Purples move up 2 leagues, it has been a learning experience for both players and coaches.

Start of the season was a challenge for the team with a quicker pace of game from the previous season and players having to adapt to the change in game by working on first touch and spread of play.

The boys soon came into their own, taking on tough opponents within the higher division. When taking on these teams for the second half of the season the development of the boys was clear to see. The games were much closer in score line and a lot more competitive. This shows their commitment and development over the course of the season, each of the boys coming into their own.

We received lots of positive feedback from teams we played as oppositions coaches could see the change and development in the team.

The boys have faced their own personal battles, developments and tough opponents but this team of young boys have proved they are wanting to challenge others with 100% commitment.

Aside from the pitch we as a team have enjoyed many days out building the boys relationships, this included a trip to watch Swindon Town and a surprise visit from Harry Smith Swindon Town Striker all courtesy of our team sponsor JRT Logistics. A mascot day at Swindon Supermarine and a bit of bowling. It’s great to see the boys smiling and enjoying these days out and experiences together.

As coaches, we can now see a lot more of what the boys can offer moving into the 2025/26, and the next step up going into their first 9-a-side season.

Some said it was too much of a jump. But we saw resilience, maturity, growth, and character building. What was a tough start but turned out to be a successful end to the 2nd half of the season. In some ways, the season finished too early.

We are excited to move into the new season, as are the boys, and we couldn’t have asked for any more from what they had to offer this year.

We would like to give a massive Thankyou to Jason at JRT for his continued support as our team sponsor. To the parents and siblings for coming to games and training in all weather’s to support the boys.

Well Done Purples, roll on the 2025/26 season with the challenges ahead and making more memories.
